Badoo and blind dates.

About a week ago {give or take a couple of days} a friend of mine told me to join a site called Badoo and after some debating, I did it and became an official Badoo member. I’ve never really had much of an online presence in sites like Badoo and I can see why. There are some definite creeps out there. How do I know this? Well, my good people it’s like this: You can see when someone has visited your profile and all the details about that particular person, like their age for example. I had people in their thirties and forties viewing my profile. Now I have nothing against that but when they click the ‘I want to meet you’ button, that’s when I become slightly alarmed. Needless to say, those people have been thoroughly ignored in a very ‘Mean Girls’ fashion.

That being said, I have a blind date on Saturday. We’re going out to a cafe for coffee and food. Normal cafe stuff.

I’m excited and nervous, anticipating it and dreading it, freaking out and totally calm about this situation. I’ve never met this guy before yet he’s taking time out of his day to travel all the way from his town {about an hour away} just to meet me for a couple of hours before he has to drive all the way back. Now that could be seen as cute or as a guy that is very determined to have sex. I guess I’ll find out either way on Saturday. We’re still trying to work out all the details but he seems like a nice person {so far}. We actually have things in common which is wonderful and everything that is good in the world. The only things that have me slightly worried are: 1} He’s actually twenty-three so that’s a five year age gap and 2} He’s Asian {a hot Asian} so his English isn’t too good but I can understand him so that’s all that counts ;]

Anyway, I’m just so excited about this so I had to tell someone and rather than telling all my friends, I decided to tell all of you! This is my first proper date – ever. Which is scary because I’ve heard all of the ‘first dates are the worst’ stories from my mum and dad, friends and even my grandparents but for the sake of my sanity and this date, I’m pushing that to the back of my mind. This will be wonderful. There will be no first date awkwardness, no bumbled first kiss and no awkward arm-over-shoulder thing. There will be none of that.

I’ll update y’all later in the week {whether you want me to or not} about our plans and how the date goes!

PS – Today I’m  going to be a blogging fiend so stick around because I have the latest post of Currently and my blogging challenge ready to be published. I’m so organized these days ;]
