Quote of the week :]

This is possibly my favorite quote from the whole Harry Potter series, that’s pretty serious considering there’s seven books altogether. Harry Potter has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I grew up with Harry Potter. Now, ten years later from being read the stories I can say that I still love the magical stories that JK Rowling has created. And even though this quote is from Albus Dumbledore, my favorite character has to be Bellatrix Lestrange. I don’t really know why, there’s just something about her that I like; apart from the fact that she murdered her cousin. In that moment I didn’t like her too much.

Everyone has a dark time in their life; whether they’ve lost a friend, loved one or child, they’ve moved away from their friends and family and finally discovered that they’re actually alone in the world, their friends are moving away while they stay behind by themselves. These could all qualify as dark times, depending on how you look at it and if it relates to you. No ones the same so while someone could be devastated that all their friends are moving away others will jump at the chance to make new friends and form connections with new people, all the while staying in touch with their old friends.

To me most of life is about perspective. Yes, there will be days that are so horrible that you never, ever want to get out of bed or you eat an entire tub of ice cream. But there will also be days that you can’t wait to get out of bed and discover the world, explore something that you’ve never
experienced before. There will be days when it’s pouring with rain and it seems like it will never stop but after the rain a rainbow always comes. There is something beautiful that comes out of every situation, sometimes it just takes time to make itself known. No two people see the exact same rainbow, even if they’re standing side by side. When you look at one, you are seeing the light bounced off of certain raindrops, but when the person standing next to you looks at the same rainbow, they may see the light reflecting off other raindrops from a completely different angle. Everyone sees colors differently according to light and how their eyes interpret it.

Since no two people see the same rainbow, I think that’s the same about life. No one can exactly relate to someone, even if it seems like they’ve walked down the same path before. Sure, they’ll be similarities but that will only relate to aspects of the experience that others have been through before. The circumstances or outcome could be different. Different people = different circumstances, different outcome, different perspective = a
different life.

In certain times it could seem that the ‘darkness’ is taking over but there is always light in every situation. There is always some ‘silver lining’ or something that you can work towards to make it better. I may seem like a silly little teenager that hasn’t experienced enough in the world to really understand what I’m talking about but everyone needs hope.

After all, if you don’t have hope, what do you really have?
